Feds Give CT $425,000 To Fight Online Predators
Certainly good news to read:
Hartford (AP) – The federal government is giving Connecticut about $425,000 to help state and local police track and arrest Internet sex predators.
Governor Rell’s office says the grant comes from the U.S. Department of Justice to help fund investigations of online sex crimes targeting children.
The state police’s Computer Crimes Unit last year investigated 211 tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That unit is part of a national network of state and local police agencies that investigate cases of online sexual exploitation of children.
Rell’s office says the grant will help pay for investigations such as undercover work to find people who entice minors online, and will help increase the Computer Crimes Unit’s forensics capacity.
Hopefully, one day it will be a given that the federal government gives states funding to help fight these online sickos. Until then, we’ll take what we can get!

This is a great start and I hope that the funding never stops. We need all the help we can get when it stopping these creeps from preying on our children.
Even though I am not a parent, I have a young niece and a young nephew that I’m concerned about their safety. As an aunt, I need to be informed on what’s happening out there in cyberland so that I can teach them as well as their parents about what not to do while on-line. I think the key is being involved in our kids lives and asking questions about what’s going on in their lives.

Unfortunately unds are limited, but there seems to be more and more of them (funds) allocated each year towards this.
Schools should take note that they could stretch their budget by taking a donation of PC Pandora in their schools. We’ll give free software to any school that asks. There is even an optional promotional program that the schools can take part in where if they help promote PC Pandora, we will give them a unique code, the parents use that code to save $10 and then 35% of ALL sales from that code will be donated back to the school. Win, win, win.

I seen on the news that there was another pedo caught, and I am so glad, but alass there are so many more out there that needs caught, but its a start I guess and we have to start somewhere.
Then getting money to help catch them is a wonderful thing, just wished it was more, but what can we do other then write our state leaders and tell them to fight for more money to help catch the bad guys.
It would be so nice if for once our government stood up for the kids and made sure they all had what they needed. This is just one of the many things kids need. We as a people need to write our congressmen and women, and all the other gov officials and say we want something done with these monsters that are hurting our kids, and we want it done now.
