Wacky Internet Predator Wednesday: X

THREE POSTS IN ONE DAY! Wow… breaking records here at the PC Pandora blog.

OK, so here is the weekly round-up. While these are all somewhat different cases of “Internet predators” they remain clear cut examples of the ridiculous filth that use the internet for sick intent… and the teens who consent.

  • In Iowa a 26-year-old meets a 16-year-old on MySpace. Girl runs away with man. Consent.
  • In Phoenix AZ a 23-year-old meets a 15-year-old girl on MySpace. Man travels to girls house and has sex with her while her parents are home! Parents say their daughter was “victimize”… yet apparently she wasn’t screaming, “Get off me,” if you know what I mean… Consent.
  • In Portland Oregon, a 28-year-old Portland man who crossed state lines in an attempt to have sex with a 5-year-old girl has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
  • In Connecticut a registered sex offender is facing criminal charges after he allegedly used a MySpace.com account to meet young men.

More reasons to use PC Pandora monitoring software to keep your kids safe from sickos like these… and in the consensual cases, keep them safe from themselves!

Teen Lured by Online Chat
(VIDEO)

Council Bluffs, Iowa -A family does everything experts tell them to do to keep their little girl safe.Still,an older man got to her and convinced her to go away with him.

Itstarted with an online chat between 16-year old Shalee Boysen and 26-year old Matthew Gardner. The Red Oak teen was staying in Council Bluffs with her grandma for the summer. They warned the girls about online predators even monitored their time by locking the computer room, still a simple visit to Myspace may have got the girl in serious danger. “It’s the scariest thing in the world to know that your kid is out there somewhere with a total stranger she’s not safe and you can’t protect her,” says step-dad, Ed Boysen.

Gardner reportedly came to grandma’s house and picked the girl up late friday. But late Saturday cops found the two 70 miles away in Audubon, Iowa. Shalee is safe now.Gardner is in jail charged with harboring a runaway child and could be in more trouble as the investigation continues.

Valley parents speak out about Internet predators
By Angie Holdsworth (VIDEO)

The parents of a girl who police say was lured into having sex with a man she met on MySpace worry there could be more victims out there.

The parents who asked we hide their identity said they had talked to their daughter about the dangers of MySpace, but she still was vulnerable.

23-year-old Justin Lee was arrested after the girl’s father walked in on them having sex in their home in Chandler.

“I was angry, but I was more shocked. I would never have thought this could happen in my house while I was in the house,” her father said.

The girl’s mother says she read the messages that had been sent back and forth between her daughter and Lee. She says she saw indications that he may have sought out other underage girls.

“It’s very hard because you have to deal with the fact that she may be dating later on and she’s going to have those trust issues and this guy has taken away a very innocent part of her,” she said.

Court documents show that Lee claimed he didn’t know how young the girl was although her parents say her age was clearly displayed on her MySpace page.

Lee was released from jail. He was arrested on charges of sexual conduct with a minor.

The girl’s parents urge parents and kids to be aware that predators on the Internet can target any child.

Ore. man gets 25 years in Internet sex case
Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A 28-year-old Portland man who crossed state lines in an attempt to have sex with a 5-year-old girl has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Christopher Todd Dudley pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Court Judge Michael Mosman.

Prosecutors said Dudley offered a man $150 to have sex with his daughter at a motel in Washington state. The man turned out to be a special agent taking part in an undercover Internet sting designed to catch sexual predators.

Agents arrested Dudley in March 2007, shortly after he took the motel exit.

Man facing charges for MySpace encounters

BANTAM - A registered sex offender is facing criminal charges after he allegedly used a MySpace.com account to meet young men.

Michael P. Mongeau, 34, 8 Montano Road, Enfield, was arraigned in Bantam Superior Court in three cases charging him with violating his probation.

Mongeau’s attorney, Carol Goldberg, denied Mongeau had anything to do with setting up the account. His sister created the account for her brother so he could meet people because he was lonely, according to an arrest warrant.

“She was doing something nice for him,” Goldberg said.

Mongeau did not have a computer, but his sister supplied him with print-outs of some of the 34 friends that visited his website, some of whom were between 16 and 18 years old.

“She was the middleman,” Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Andrew Wittstein said.

The prosecutor notified the court Mongeau was found in the company of an 18-year-old man in Chicopee, Mass., on May 9.

Mongeau’s probation officer told Mongeau to get rid of the Myspace page, which he did within a week. But the activity, combined with leaving the state without permission, was apparently enough to apply for a warrant accusing Mongeau of violating his probation. Mongeau was charged with three counts, as he was serving three separate probations for three convictions. Judge Charles D. Gill set $40,000 bonds in each case. Mongeau is scheduled to appear in Litchfield Superior Court and in Bridgeport Superior Court, where the three cases were transferred.

In November 2003, Mongeau used his computer to meet a 15-year-old male on the Internet. He was sentenced to serve 30 months of a 10-year sentence and 10 years probation, according to court records.

A Litchfield Superior Court Judge ordered Mongeau to serve a year behind bars of an 8-year sentence and 10 years probation in February 2005 for twice meeting with a Salisbury boarding school student in 2004 for sex, according to court records.

On June 10, 2005, Mongeau was convicted after pleading guilty to risk of injury to a minor in Bridgeport. He was ordered to serve two and a half years in jail of a 10-year sentence and 10 years of probation. Mongeau was arrested in the case after meeting with a 15-year old male for sex in January 2004.

In each of the cases, he was prohibited from having any contact with the victim as well as any minors under 18 years old and to undergo sex offender evaluation and psychological treatment.
