Sort of a follow-up to the Wacky Internet Predator Wednesday series, here is a dude in KY that thought it would be cool to have sex with a 15-year-old girl he met on MySpace. The guy is 21.
The issue here that parents need to take notice of is that the sex was consensual! The girl wanted it… and wanted it so much that the guy helped her run away from home upon request. Apparently the sheriffs’ office had gotten wind of the brewing affair and warned him to stay away, due to the illegalities RE: her age… but he didn’t (that’s when he helped her run away).
While 6 years of age difference isn’t that much when you are 40 years old… when it’s a 21-year-old and a 15-year old it’s illegal and it’s disgusting. C’mon dude, are you that much of a loser? You couldn’t fine a girl your age? Ever heard of college girls? You nasty jackass…
Parents, take heed. Not all Internet predators are “predators”… too often, your teen girls want the thrill of the sexual encounter. You need programs like PC Pandora to know what your child is doing online. Failure to use parental control/ monitoring programs like PC Pandora and free reign on the Internet will result in scenarios like this. Don’t be a lame duck, be a strong parent. Please take the necessary steps to make sure you child is safe online and not involving themselves in situations like meeting older guys on MySpace and having sex with them and running away. Talk to you kids, be involved and KNOW what they are doing…
Man Allegedly Has Sex With Teen Through MySpace
A Cincinnati man has been charged with having sex with a girl he met online and then helping her run away from her parent’s Green Township home.
It’s a story you saw first on Good Morning Tri-State.
The victim is just 15-years-old, and while the suspect allegedly met her on MySpace.com, he could have just as easily met her by just walking out his front door, as she apparently lives in the same town.
Twenty-one-year-old Joseph Wade, of Green Township, was arrested Tuesday.
He allegedly met the girl back in June on the Internet.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says while the two had consensual sex, it was still illegal given the girl’s age. Wade has been charged with sex with a minor, a felony.
Deputies say Wade had been warned to stay away from the girl, but didn’t, leading her to run away from her home. Wade even picked the girl up from her home in the middle of the night to help her run away, according to authorities. He also allegedly kept moving her location to keep her away from her parents. That led to the additional charge of interference with custody.
Wade was given a $26,000 bond on Wednesday.
