Man Shows Up For Sex Acts, Gets Robbed Instead
OK, this story has nothing to do with Child Online Safety… I just love to point to these stories that remind us that not everyone is who they say they are on the Internet, especially a social networking site. If you meet someone on MySpace or Facebook, don’t be stupid enough to meet them in real life. Especially if there is a “promise” of sex. Don’t be an idiot. Seriously. And parents, start teaching your kids now to not talk to strangers on the Internet and not be trusting of anyone!
Man shows up for sex acts, gets robbed instead
By Robbyn Brooks, North West Florida Daily News
A man was robbed outside a Papa John’s Pizza instead of getting the sexual favors he had expected.
According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office offense report, the man had befriended a woman on Myspace and after several text messages and phone calls they agreed to meet. She said she would bring another female friend and perform sex acts in exchange for $150.
Instead, the man was robbed by two white females and a black man on Sept. 1, the report said.
The robbers took $64, a cell phone and a knapsack containing work-related books and equipment.
No arrests have been made.
