Pandora Corp. Announces PC Pandora Free Holiday Giveaway
This is 100% real and NO BS!!!
Pandora Corp. is leaving a gift under every parent’s tree this holiday season: PC Pandora absolutely free! The economy is tough, but Internet safety for children is one area that we cannot afford to let suffer. Monitoring software will help parents keep their kids safe from Internet predators, cyberbullies and other threats online.
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 22, 2008 – Most people will tell you that nothing in life is free. “Everything has a price,” as the saying goes.
But for the holidays, Pandora Corp. is changing the rules.
Beginning at 12:01 AM on December 25th, and through New Years Day, the company will be giving away its signature computer monitoring software, PC Pandora, absolutely free!
“The economy is making the holidays difficult for a lot of folks this year,” explains Pandora Corp. co-founder James Leasure. “Parents will probably dig deeper this year to make the kids and family happy, especially if they are planning to buy a new PC for the household. We want to make sure that kids using those PCs stay safe online, and so we’re helping parents get the best safety tools for free.”
Starting Christmas morning, parents can visit www.pcpandora.com and use the code PCPANDORAHOLIDAY to get the current PC Pandora version 5.2 absolutely free as a download. The giveaway will last until 11:59 PM on January 1, 2009, or until 50,000 units have been given away. There are no strings attached; in fact, there is even an incentive: parents who take advantage of the giveaway will be given an e-coupon to use on the next release of the software.
In early 2009, Pandora Corp. will be releasing PC Pandora 6.0. The new version will contain standard upgrades and modifications plus many important new features, including the optional Pandora LIVE, a web-based subscription service that will allow near real-time monitoring, as well as the ability to change or modify settings remotely. Leasure says he hopes that people find the software essential enough to come back and take a look at the new version.
“Internet safety can’t be put on the back burner, so we’re going to give our software away now when many people are telling us that they simply can’t afford discretionary spending,” says Leasure. “We want parents to see how incredibly efficient our program is and what a powerful tool it can be in 21st century parenting. Of course, our hope is that these families will remain loyal customers once the economy turns around, but even if not, it’s critical that parents understand what’s happening online.”
PC Pandora is computer monitoring software that records all activity on a computer. The program’s first-rate monitoring capabilities take sequential snapshots of everything that happens on the screen, thus allowing parents to see first-hand everything their child does both on and offline. Further details of user activity are made available in text-based files, including instant messenger chats, emails sent and received, websites visited, peer-2-peer files shared, keystrokes logged, programs accessed, Internet search queries and more. The IRIS feature will even send those text-based files right to a parent’s email – invaluable for working moms and dads who can’t always be home when the kids are online.
Leasure says the ways that computer monitoring software can help parents are so numerous they often don’t consider all of them.
“If your child is visiting websites you don’t approve of, talking to strangers on social networks, creating and maintaining multiple social network profiles, downloading illegal music and movies, or falling victim to or – even worse – acting as a cyberbully, you will know about it if you are monitoring their internet activity.”
Typical filters and standard blocks are easy for savvy young users to circumnavigate, “But if you have computer monitoring software like PC Pandora,” explains Leasure, “you’ll know what your children are doing and be able to act appropriately.”
While almost every home in America with kids contains a computer, not everyone can spend the extra money on the protection they need right now.
“The bottom line is keeping kids safe online,” states Leasure. “Our Christmas gift to parents this year is giving them the tools they need to do just that.”
Visit www.pcpandora.com between Christmas and New Year’s Day and use the code PCPANDORAHOLIDAY at checkout to get your copy of PC Pandora for free.
Think you don’t really need monitoring software to keep your kids safe? Here are some statistics to ponder:
A recent Pew Internet & American Life Project report says:
- 94% of teens 12-17 go online
- 63% of online teens go online daily
- 94% go online to do research for school assignments; 48% do so on a typical day
- 32% of online teens have been contacted by a complete stranger online; of teens that have been contacted, 23% say they were made scared or uncomfortable by the stranger contact
- Social network users more likely to have been contacted by strangers
- 32% of online teens have experienced a form of cyberbullying, such as having private material (IM, text, email) forwarded without permission, receiving threatening messages, having a rumor spread about them online or having someone post an embarrassing picture of them online without permission
- Having Internet monitoring software (but not filters) is correlated with lower reported levels of contact by someone unknown to the teen or his/her friends
By contrast:
- 65% of parents say they check up on their teens after they go online – This means that 35% of parents DO NOT check!
- 45% of families have monitoring software on the computer that their child uses – This means that 55% of parents cannot confirm what their child does online or has no clue.
- 7% of parents have no rules about media use at all – This figure should be ZERO!
About PC Pandora: Pandora Corporation was formed with one goal – to help our customers monitor, control and protect their families and themselves online. First released in mid 2005, PC Pandora has been constantly upgraded to industry-leading specifications and has received accolades from users, reviewers and even school districts and law enforcement agencies, who use the program to help in the day-to-day supervision of the children and citizens they are charged with protecting. The company website devotes space to helping parents by providing 18 Tips to Safe Surfing and Pandora’s Blog, where current news in the world of online safety is discussed regularly. PC Pandora has vaulted into a leadership position by boasting a combination of features that are unparalleled in the monitoring industry. In February 2008, Version 5.0 was released, again widening the spectrum of coverage and protection offered by the program. In addition, through the company’s SAFE SCHOOLS program, schools and school districts can receive up to $100,000 worth of software to aid in protecting their students and their PCs. Actually, it’s not a scam. Both of you – Robin and Michael – failed to see the checked box that asks if you want a back-up CD mailed to you. The program is free for this week as a download (which is primarily the way we have sold and marketed it since the beginning). If you want the back-up CD, that costs $9.99 for shipping, handling and cost value of the discs. The program is still free.
Michael, if your account was charged, it should only be for $10. Contact us on Friday and we will give you a refund and not ship the CD.
To everyone reading this — make sure you take notice of the box asking if you want a back-up CD. If it is checked, you will have to pay $10. If you uncheck it, everything will go through as expected for absolutely free.
Robin and Michael, thank you for brining this matter to our attention.

Hi Teri,
I emailed you this response, but I think it would be beneficial for everyone to read:

Hi Teri,
Wanted to email you back in response to this. I checked with my tech guys and they said that the download ALONE is a 2-hour trial. that’s why we email you a Registration Key. The initial download is ALWAYS a trial. Anyone can download and try to 2 hours. When you “purchase” you are basically buying the key that permits further use. So if you did everything correctly and filled it all out – the registration key should be in your email. That will allow continued use indefinitely.

I feel the need to make a comment here. This is not a gimmick. We are taking a bit of a risk and a “bath” (so to speak in business terms) by giving away all this software. We aren’t scamming anyone. If you are having problems with the downloading, then something is wrong on your end. It could be confusion, it could be a checked box — whatever the case, please use this blog as a forum to post a question. I will reply to you personally after looking into it, and then post both comment and reply here so everyone can learn.
But the bottom line is this isn’t a joke. We are trying hard to do something real nice for parents everywhere. If the download isn’t working for you, please let us know before you cry “shenanigans.”
Thanks
-Ken

I tried this. I got nothing. I got a verification that i would get an email, but it didn’t come. I’m already running pandora 4,so I figured maybe since they have my email they didn’t send it to me. So I tried my wife’s email, same confirmation, but nothing sent.Had my sister do it in another state got hers right away. Is it because I already bought a copy. That shouldn’t be right. I need it for the laptop I got my son for Christmas. Please advise ASAP.

We’re workign on trying to figure out why you may not have gotten the registration key. That shouldn’t happen. We’ll fix it. In the meantime, I emailed you a personal response. Please check your emails!
