Thanks for bringing this up.

I think the risks of using Facebook and MySpace far outweighs the benefits.  Parents need to be firm here.  Kids can talk safely with their real friends face-to-face or by phone.  The virtual friends theyinteract with online are just that; virtual, not real friends.  Kids need real friends, not virtual ones.

Of course kids will argue and rebel.  We all did when we were kids.  And we can look back now and see where our parents were wiser and where we&#039;re glad they held the line.
