Wacky Internet Predator Wednesday – Volume 35
I actually only have one story to report this week and it’s the best one EVER!
Sadly, it does involve a real 16-year-old girl who met a man on MySpace who then coerced her into a meeting where he sexually assaulted her. But get this – the parents were so upset they staged their own sting op!!! Awesome!
Obviously, the whole thing could have been prevented if the parents knew who their daughter was talking to online and was monitoring her internet activity with computer monitoring software like our PC Pandora… but for them to take action all vigilante-style is pretty sweet.
For some reason this story was buried in Houston. That is super weak. Everyone should know about this! Check it out…

Parents lure suspected MySpace predator
Joe Conger, KENS 5SAN ANTONIO — According to the arrest warrant, it started as a MySpace conversation in February between a 16-year-old girl and 36-year-old Michael McHenry.
The online relationship became very real, though, when police say McHenry enticed the young girl into his van and sexually assaulted her.
The warrant says the teenager was too scared to tell her folks, so she told her cousins. But the girl’s parents got wind of it all. That is when they set up their own sting, luring the predator back to their home on Binz Engleman early Thursday morning – and calling the police.
McHenry was arrested and is jailed for Aggravated Assault of a Child. His bond has been set at $50,000.
