Oops. This week is flying so fast I didn’t realize yesterday was Wednesday! So, a belated post this is… but nonetheless exciting.
Here below are three more reasons parents need to pay attention to who their kids are communicating with – especially on social networks. That’s why we made PC Pandora – to givee parents the help they need in knowing these sorts of things. There is no reason and no excuse for not knowing what your child is doing online… except of course for weak and lazy parenting.
Here’s a summary, detailed stories follow:
- A 27-year-old woman from Delaware was arrested for having sex with 3 teen boys.
- A Tennessee man is in jail accused of using MySpace to have sexually explicit conversations with teens.
- A 22-year-old college student was arrested (and consequently expelled from school) for soliciting what he thought was a 14-year-old online for sex.

After MySpace posts, Laurel woman charged with teen sexLAUREL — Angela N. Groesbeck, 27, of Laurel faces several sexual assault charges by Delaware State Police after an investigation into a sexual complaint revealed she had allegedly engaged in illegal sexual acts with three separate juvenile boys.
The investigation began March 12 when the mother of a 15-year-old boy was viewing her son’s MySpace account and discovered some alarming statements on the account. The mother found a conversation on the site that insinuated her son was sexually involved with an older woman who utilized a screen name “I LOVE MY SHAWTY.”
The mother learned from her son that this person was Groesbeck, a neighbor of the boy’s father, who lived at a separate location in Laurel. Police conducted an interview with the victim and learned he knew Groesbeck from visiting his father’s home in Laurel Village. Additionally, it was discovered that the pair reportedly had sexual relations Feb. 28 at Groesbeck’s home. Groesbeck was subsequently arrested March 13 and committed to the Delores J Baylor Woman’s Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
As investigators continued the probe, they discovered Groesbeck also allegedly had sexual relations with two other juveniles. In this case, detectives learned she reportedly engaged in elicit sexual conduct with two 14-year-old Laurel boys on several occasions between March 21, 2008, and Feb. 28. All of these occurred at her home on Ponderosa Avenue.
Groesbeck was charged with five counts of rape in the third degree and eight counts of unlawful sexual contact second degree. She remained incarcerated at the correctional center in lieu of $40,000 secured bond.

Man Accused of Inappropriate MySpace ActivitySHELBYVILLE, Tenn.-A Shelbyville man is in jail accused of using MySpace to have sexually explicit conversations with teens.
James Moran, Jr. is charged with more than a dozen counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Department said he exposed himself or sent sexually explicit material over the internet to young females.
He is being held on a nearly $200,000 bond.
Baylor Student Busted In Online Sex Sting
Jesus Zepeda is accused of attempting to solicit what he thought was a minor online.
Austin police detectives say they caught a Baylor University student online trying to solicit a girl for sex.
Baylor University police arrested Jesus Zepeda, 22, on campus Friday and he was booked into McLennan County Jail. He is now free on bail.
Detectives in Austin’s Child Exploitation Unit say Zepeda asked one of their undercover investigators, posing as a 14-year old girl, to have sex with him in an AOL chat room.
According to the arrest affidavit, Zepeda sent nude pictures of himself to the undercover officer posing as the teenager.
“This is more than just casual flirting online. This is more than just talking to a juvenile online. These people who get arrested for this are people who know what they’ve done is wrong,” Austin detective Joel Pridgeon said.
He attributes the spike of online predators targeting kids for sex to the growing popularity of social networking sites.
“In five years I’ve seen a dramatic increase in chat room solicitation, an increase in child pornography all sorts of violations against children on the Internet,” Pridgeon said.
Austin police say there are things parents can do to protect their children from online predators.
• Know what they are doing online and who they’re talking to.
• Restrict or monitor any online social networks they belong to.
• Install software to keep track of web activity on your home computer. Programs such as PC PANDORA IS GREAT!!!Jesus Zepeda was a senior getting ready to graduate with an Anthropology degree.
Baylor University officials confirm he has been expelled and is no longer an enrolled student at the school.
He’s charged with online solicitation of a minor, a 3rd degree felony.
