MySpace Monday
Now remember, MySpace Monday doesn’t necessarily have to do with monitoring, but is rather a cautionary tale to those that stupidly post things on MySpace.
So, here’s a tip: if you are wanted for manslaughter – don’t tell people on a public website where you are!
Manslaughter suspect arrested after posting update on MySpace
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A man wanted for manslaughter was arrested after he posted a status update on the Web site MySpace.
Pinellas sheriff’s deputies say that they received information that James Paul Mullins would be on a charter fishing boat departing from John’s Pass.
Investigators said they got the information by reading an update on Mullins’ MySpace page. In the posting, he said he would be fishing over the weekend on the vessel ‘Quality Time.’
The boat left John’s Pass Friday afternoon with three people aboard.
A Marine unit intercepted the 44-foot vessel around 10:30 Sunday night. Deputies boarded the boat and arrested Mullins, who was wanted in Okeechobee on manslaughter and culpable negligence charges.
He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
