Mom Sues 4 Kids Over Fake Facebook Page About Her Son

I LOVE this story. I completely back the mom in this case and champion her on… I am eagerly awaiting the outcome of the trial and suit and hope it send a message to other parents…

The gist is this: mother is fighting back against four youngsters she said created a fake Facebook account of her son, posting racist and sexual information purportedly by him.

This is another reason why every parent needs to be using PC Pandora computer monitoring software in conjunction with having the age-old talk with their kids about not acting like an a**hole! If the parents of the kids named in the suit had our software, maybe they would have seen their kids creating this fake page and then they could have intervened and prevented a lawsuit.

I hope the kids are tarnished for life (if found guilty) and banished from all social networks… I also hope they are cleaned out, monetarily, and I hope someone makes an example of their parents for not paying attention to what their kids were doing online…

This is a sad story, but at the same time, I hope to see more of it. If you parents won’t hold your kids accountable for the despicable acts they perform online – someone else will!

Booya! Happy Friday…

Mom sues 4 kids, claiming they set up fake Facebook profile to defame her son
Tribune staff report

A mother is fighting back against four youngsters she said created a fake Facebook account of her son, posting racist and sexual information purportedly by him.

The mother, Laura Cook, filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on Thursday against the youths identified only by their initials, claiming they purposely defamed her teenage son and damaged his reputation.

The 20-page suit claims defendants R.C., A.G., K.Z. and M.S. created a profile on the popular social networking site that featured the name and photo of Cook’s son, along with his cell phone number.

On this fake profile, the four defendants are alleged to have posted obscenities and statements describing Cook’s son as engaging in sex with other males.

The suit also claims the youngsters posted statements to make the young man appear racist, including one about President Barack Obama.

The fake profile for Cook’s son, identified in the suit as John Doe, had at least 580 online friends before it was removed and has harmed his reputation with friends and athletic peers, the suit claims.

Cook’s attorney, Charles Mudd Jr., declined to comment Thursday night.

The suit seeks unspecified damages and seeks to bar the defendants from ever impersonating him online.
