I love this story… Basically, a man successfully robbed a bank in South Carolina… and then confessed/boasted about it on MySpace. Um, tip to the general public: if you are going to rob a bank – DON’T WRITE ABOUT IT ON A SOCIAL NETWORKING WEBSITE!!

Jut another head’s up, folks: if your kids are on a social network, you need to understand that so is everyone else… muggers, robbers, predators, etc. But you can use monitoring software to know who your kids are chatting with and keep them safe.

Bank robber who boasted on MySpace gets 7 yearsCOLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – A man who confessed to robbing a South Carolina bank in a message posted on MySpace has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Walt Wilkins says a federal judge also ordered 28-year-old Joseph Wade Northington of Roanoke, VA, to pay back nearly $4,000 during a hearing Wednesday.
Northington pleaded guilty earlier this year to using a firearm during a crime of violence. He had faced a possible life sentence.
Authorities say Northington robbed a bank in North Augusta of almost $4,000 in January while visiting a friend, who called investigators after seeing surveillance pictures of Northington.
Prosecutors say before his arrest, Northington posted a message to his MySpace account reading: “On tha run for robbin a bank Love all of yall.”
