Probation for W.Pa. mom on MySpace when tot fell
The Associated PressUNIONTOWN, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania woman who police say was busy on MySpace.com when her 3-year-old daughter fell from a second-floor apartment window, fracturing her skull, has been sentenced to probation.
Twenty-six-year-old Amanda Lee Palo, of Uniontown, was sentenced to one year of probation Tuesday in Fayette County Court. She previously pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangerment.
Police said Palo was on MySpace.com in April 2008 when Hannah Marie Young fell 11 feet and hit an air conditioner and concrete patio. She’s since recovered.
Police say Hannah and her three siblings were throwing compact discs from the window before she fell.
The children are in foster care and Palo has been taking parenting classes.
