Wacky Internet Predator Wednesday #80
This is the 80th week of doing these posts. That is 80 weekly reminders that this problem is REAL. I’m not saying we all need to freak out, I am saying do NOT listen to the self-proclaimed “experts” that tell you fears are overblown and the issue is “largely exaggerated.” It’s not. It is a real thing that happens every day – predators talking to kids. But if you have the right tools in place (like PC Pandora 6.0 and our new PC Pandora LIVE! service) you don’t have to go crazy because you will KNOW what your kids are doing and you will KNOW if they are safe or not.
Anyway, this week we have 13 arrests(!), including 3 guys in Arizona, 3 guys in Pennsylvania, plus 1 guy in England and another in Scotland – International predators!!!

Orange man accused of being MySpace predator

A 32-year-old man from Orange accused of kidnapping an underage girl to rape her and luring the girl and other pre-teen and teenage girls into sending him naked photos through the social networking site MySpace will be tried on nearly two dozen criminal charges. The online scam is believed to have stretched from Orange County to the United Kingdom.

Charlotte man charged for sex with 14-year-old (VIDEO)

PORT CHARLOTTE: A 14-year-old girl from Virginia tracked down a long lost relative in Charlotte County using MySpace, but their reunion ended very badly, according to deputies.
Investigators say the man had sex with the girl multiple times at the end of her two-week visit.

250 Arrests By Child Predator Unit

HARRISBURG, PA – Agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit have recently arrested three suspected Internet predators, including a plumber from New York state who traveled to Lawrence County to have sex with what he believed was a 13-year old girl; a computer technician from Lackawanna County who used online chat rooms to sexually proposition what he believed was a young girl; and a chef from Wayne County accused of sending 14 nude webcam videos to an undercover agent using the online profile of a young teen.

Ramsey police play role in arrest of Internet predators

Borough police help with county investigation. The Ramsey Police Department was instrumental in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office arrest of three men who allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with or exposed their private parts to teenage girls when using the Internet, according to a press release.

Phoenix man accused of trying to lure girl for sex

PHOENIX—Authorities say a Phoenix man has been arrested and charged with one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation. Phoenix police say 21-year-old Garrett Allan Baker was taken into custody Wednesday by undercover officers at the Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe.
