E-STOP Goes to Oklahoma
The Electronic Security and Targeting of Predators Act (E-STOP) that New York passed in 2008 and has used to remove over 4,000 registered sex offenders living in NY from social networking sites is about to become a law in Oklahoma. Last week, House Bill 2934 passed the state’s House unanimously (100-0) and now heads to the Senate for consideration…

Proposed Bill Could Ban Sex Offenders From Social Networking Sites

MARIETTA, OK – The Internet can be a convenient source for research, business, and learning. But for sexual predators, it can be a quick, easy way into your home. Lawmakers in Oklahoma are now trying to ban anyone convicted of a sexual crime from having access to social networking sites. Meredith Saldana reports.
