Stung on the Internet

I am always a fan of profile pieces that highlight the work of a branch of law enforcement that makes it their duty to track down Internet predators. I feel they don’t get enough thanks for the job they do. Instead, self-proclaimed experts in the Internet safety field try to say the Internet predator situation isn’t really all that bad, belittling the work these guys do. But just ask the cops – these scumbags are for REAL!

But while people like Johnson and Giroux do their work “on the street,” parents need to do their job in the home. And it’s very easy to do with tools like our PC Pandora 6.0 monitoring software that will let you see exactly who your kids are talking to and who is trying to talk to them!

Happy Friday!

Feb. 28–TUPELO — Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says getting a person arrested, charged, indicted and convicted is not an easy task for most crimes.

But when it comes to Internet sex crimes, Johnson said criminals bring themselves right to him.

Since the Sheriff’s Department started its stings in 2006, it has arrested, charged and indicted 19 people for using the Internet to entice children for sexual purposes.
