Barbara Hijek, Sun-Sentinel

Another Facebook fool.

A Panama City Beach hotel reported the theft of $500 of Dom Perignon champagne in February after an inventory of supplies showed three bottles were missing, according to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

The security cameras had been turned off at the time of the theft, according to a subsequent investigation.

The hotel manager ID’d the man as Jonathon Appleby, a former night auditor at the hotel. Read more ›

So this is a HUGE FAIL. This sophomore at this high school in Rhode Island wrote and turned in an essay for a writing assignment that was more or less a creative writing story about how he was going to shoot up the school, depicted in a style very similar to Columbine. He did this at the end of March. Teacher told administrators. Cops came. Kid detained. He spends the week in and out of the family court and is released, with CHARGES DROPPED, pending certain provisions. Just when it seems the kid has dodged a bullet for his little story, HE POSTS IT ON FACEBOOK!!! Now he is facing a SECOND set of charges. I doubt the judge will have leniency this time around.
