Greenback teacher’s Facebook messages lead to her arrest
GREENBACK (WATE) – A Greenback School teacher faces felony charges after police say she sent inappropriate Facebook messages to a student at another school.
Deputies say Angela Gay Masingo, 39, is charged with solicitation of aggravated statutory rape and solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor. < READ FULL STORY

Your Facebook ‘Likes’ Can Reveal If You’re Gay, How You Vote: Study

LONDON (AP) — Clicking those friendly blue “like” buttons strewn across the Web may be doing more than marking you as a fan of Coca-Cola or Lady Gaga.
It could out you as gay.
It might reveal how you vote.
It might even suggest that you’re an unmarried introvert with a high IQ and a weakness for nicotine.
That’s the conclusion of a study published Monday in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Researchers reported analyzing the likes of more than 58,000 American Facebook users to make guesses about their personalities and behavior, and even whether they drank, smoked, or did drugs.
Cambridge University researcher David Stillwell, one of the study’s authors, said the results may come as a surprise.
“Your likes may be saying more about you than you realize,” he said. < READ FULL STORY

Smartphone thief not so smart, strikes a pose on Facebook, says NYPD

(CBS) NEW YORK – A man was cunning enough to steal a woman’s smartphone in the Bronx, but also dumb enough to post a photo himself on Facebook using the stolen phone, according to police.
CBS New York reported police are pursuing the alleged phone snatcher, who they say then took a picture of himself exhaling smoke – one of several pictures of him that wound up online because the victim had her phone set to automatically post photos to her Facebook page. < READ FULL STORY

Okla. woman tries to sell children on Facebook to get bail money for boyfriend, police say

(CBS) SALLISAW, Okla. – Misty VanHorn, of Sallisaw, Okla., was arrested for trying to sell her children on Facebook in order to get money to bail her boyfriend out of jail, CBS affiliate KWTV reports.

Seattle Station Asked to Post Killing on Facebook

A man who told a TV newsroom that he had killed his wife and asked the station to post that message on Facebook was arrested Thursday after a high-speed chase, authorities said.
Sara Barrett, 42, was found dead from “homicidal violence” about 6 a.m. Thursday at a Tacoma motel, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The discovery came just hours after Tony Barrett, 41, of Puyallup was arrested in the chase that reached 100 mph from Tacoma to Gig Harbor, where police and state troopers stopped his car with spike strips. < READ FULL STORY
