Don’t like being spied on by the NSA or CIA? Quit Facebook.

Thought this was interesting enough to share… obviously the story is not new anymore, but now other countries (not necessarily our best friends) are warning their citizens to quit Facebook if they don’t want to be willing informants to the US.

It’s a simple truth people. When you put something online, it is there forever and (more or less) accessible by anyone… including the NSA and CIA. Knowing that, why wouldn’t you teach your children to mind internet safety? Why wouldn’t you want to use PC Pandora to know what they were posting online to make sure they aren’t making themselves a target?

Tired of helping CIA? Quit Facebook, Venezuela minister urges

CARACAS — A Venezuelan government minister on Wednesday urged citizens to shut Facebook accounts to avoid being unwitting informants for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, referring to recent revelations about U.S. surveillance programs.

Edward Snowden, a former U.S. National Security Agency contractor, last month leaked details about American intelligence agencies obtaining information from popular websites including Facebook, He is believed to be holed up in the transit zone of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport from where he has applied for asylum in more than 20 countries in a bid to avoid extradition to the United States.
