Girl was videoed doing things ‘no parent would want to see on the Internet,’ Hopatcong cops say

HOPATCONG — A teen girl was recently video-recorded at a party doing something “no parent would want to see on the Internet,” prompting police involvement, Hopatcong police said.

Lt. Thomas Kmetz, the police department’s spokesperson, declined to say what the girl was recorded doing, saying he wanted to protect her privacy. But the video was posted online “for the world to see,” Kmetz said in a statement to media and a post to his department’s Facebook page.

The girl’s parents didn’t press charges against the person who posted the video, another juvenile, Kmetz said. They just wanted the video removed, and it has been, he said.

“They have six months if they want to change their minds,” he said.

But in comments to the Facebook post, the police department warned posting such a video “could be harassment” and said “If it is sexual it could be distribution and possession of child pornography.” [READ FULL STORY]
